Mallard Cottage

Mallard Cottage is named after a pair of Mallard ducks who made a nest in the ridge of the old thatch. The fire brigade were called out to persuade the ducklings to jump off the roof and land into the arms of a fireman. The family were safely relocated to the pond. It is located in the left hand side of Walkers Cart Lodge.

Accommodation

The facilities in each cottage include a beautiful, open-plan oak beamed sitting area with oak flooring, a dining table & 4 chairs, sofabed, chair, TV with freeview, and wifi. A hand-crafted oak staircase leads from the quality-fitted kitchen area (with hob, oven, built-in fridge/freezer, dishwasher & washer/dryer) to the mezzanine level study/2nd double bedroom. An attractive double bedroom with oak furniture lies downstairs. There’s a separate bathroom with bath, shower and wc. Units can be let separately or, if available, as one by opening the interconnecting door.

There is underfloor heating throughout and power is included. There is a small front garden for each with table & chairs. Bed linen and towels are provided. Parking available. Well-behaved dogs allowed by arrangement. Cot & highchair available on request. As it's thatched, no candles please and smoking is absolutely not permitted.
